Prophet Pools Beta FAQs
With the Beta of our flagship product Prophet Pools launching imminently, here are all the need-to-know details:
Expectations for beta prophet pools
Our highest priority as the team is ensuring that everything we deliver is useful, safe, enjoyable, and productive. In order to do so, we need to provide a testing ‘sandbox’ to gather feedback from the community and essential backend data before launching.
Prophet Pools are entering beta phase on Ethereum’s Kovan test network. We want the community to test the functionality we build early and often before releasing the feature to production as a mainnet product. This allows us to work out non-ideal flows, and gather feedback from the community for improvements of the way we run Prophet Pools.
We anticipate Prophet Pools to run for an undetermined amount of time during Q2 2021, likely weeks, towards a month or so, for full implementations of trial and error beta testing. Once beta pools have had enough time being utilized by the community, we will take the overarching feedback and implement it into the production-ready Prophet Pools functionality ready for mainnet. We’ve planned for mainnet Prophet Pools to be released as a v1 live implementation during Q2 2021 (April / May / June), and beta testing will determine how soon this production release can safely occur.
How Prophet Pools will work in beta:
- Beta Prophet Pools will be available on our platform and will run for an undetermined time through Q2 2021. Look out for more announcements related to release timelines after beta Prophet Pools wrap up.
- We can and will release new updates during the beta phase of Prophet Pools, so expect more announcements in Telegram and Discord when we’re going to release updates that we expect the community to test. Some updates will be purposefully great, and some purposefully suck (yep — like *really* suck) to gain an accurate scale on what our community wants. If you see something you like, tell us! Equally, if something sucks to you, please let us know and we can work to completely avoid this during mainnet.
- Only addresses who have been whitelisted will be allowed to access beta Prophet Pools. If you purchased a Maximus NFT (the iPhone giveaway one) or participated in the Prophecy private sale, the address you used at the time will be whitelisted. If you’re unsure, or see a message on the website that says you’re not eligible, message the team and we will work with you to independently verify.
- Pools will require Kovan Ethereum to use. In order to receive Kovan ETH, go to https://faucet.kovan.network/
- During beta, our functionality will be extremely slimmed down. Every pool will need to be manually closed in order to test dispersement of winnings and loser tokens. Mainnet will be significantly different, visually and functionally, this beta is just for testing and data flow purposes!
Steps to participate in a Prophet Pool:
- Ensure sure you have a GitHub account to receive faucet Kovan ETH
- Go to https://faucet.kovan.network/ and get some Kovan ETH
3. Go to the Prophecy portal https://prophecy.finance/poolsbeta.html
4. In Metamask, change from “Mainnet” to “Kovan” and connect with your whitelisted wallet address (the address you used to participate in the private sale or to purchase the Maximus NFT)
5. You should automatically be redirected to our beta site if you have the whitelisted wallet address connected to your metamask while you’re visiting the above URL. If you are not redirected, please contact @chronos9654 or someone from our team
6. Once on the beta website, you will see Prophet Pools on the page. Click on a Pool to join it.
7. Click on different Pools to toggle to other version of prophet Pools.
8. Once you join, you will have to wait until the Pool closes to see if you’ve won or lost.
9. Once the last person has joined the Pool, the “Settle” button will appear. You will need to pay Kovan ETH gas to settle the Pool. When the Pool settles, the winners are determined, and the winner and loser tokens are dispersed.
10. If you win, you will receive more kovan ETH in your wallet.
11. If you lose, you will receive a new token in your wallet. Add this contract to your metamask wallet to see the loser token, “ZETH”

Contract address of second chance tokens: 0xEB1F5c8d8fF5FCC6beD9123430E71FC785A285ad
12. Losers of Prophet Pools can enter the “second chance Prophet Pool” at any time using the tokens that you’ve received. Second chance pools operate just like a regular Prophet Pool. Follow steps 1 — 8 to use a second chance Pool
13. Once the Pool has dispersed winnings, you can enter it again.
Future features coming after beta is released (Q2)
Although these features won’t be available immediately when we release, we’re looking to release them during the beta period so that we can gather additional feedback before production launch. Look out for these features in the near future:
- If you lose a Prophet Pool, you will receive an NFT that will allow you to enter the Second Chance Pool.
- In the future, the system will close Prophet Pools automatically, rather than someone having to click a “Settle” button to determine the winner and disperse winnings. This is a temporary feature.
- Second Chance Pools will have their own dedicated page.
- We will have an activity table that will show you your transactions from Prophet Pools over time.
Let us know all your feedback, we look forward to hearing from you all!
